A Chandler Tesla that dies in a Price Road office lot is not a gas-car stall. Tesla roadside assistance in Chandler starts in the Tesla app, and for an empty pack Tesla typically arranges transport to a Supercharger or service center, not a charge in that stall. If the car has to stay put, Charge Pro PHX can match you with an independent local operator for Tesla roadside rescue.

Where Chandler Teslas actually stall

Chandler sits in the East Valley. Census ACS 2020-2024 figures put Chandler, Gilbert, and Glendale each between 250,000 and 280,000 people. The commute grid is Price Road north and south, Loop 101 Price on the west edge, and Loop 202 Santan running east-west.

Workplace lots along Price Road and around the Intel campus sit in afternoon sun. Phoenix averages about 111 days a year at or above 100F and about 21 days at or above 110F, per NOAA 1991-2020 normals through NWS Phoenix. Recurrent reported EVs can lose 20 to 30 percent of range above about 95F, with loss near 31 percent at 100F, from 345,622 trips by 300 Phoenix-area EVs. A Model Y that left a Chandler garage with a buffer can show 0 percent at 5 p.m. without a pack failure. Heat and cabin cooling used the margin.

The freeway stall is Loop 202 Santan or Loop 101 Price. Arizona has no toll roads, confirmed by ADOT. ARS 28-871 says you may not stop on the traveled part of a highway outside a business or residence district if it is practical to get off. A vehicle disabled so badly it cannot be moved is exempt. When stopped you must leave room for other traffic to pass and be visible 200 feet in each direction. ARS 28-775, the Move Over law, requires approaching drivers to move over a lane if they safely can, otherwise slow down.

ADOT’s Incident Response Unit covers Phoenix-area freeways, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, and helps stranded motorists. Published ADOT materials do not mention EV charging. Arizona DPS Roadside Motorist Assistance is statewide and names gasoline and diesel. Those DPS materials say nothing about EV charging or out-of-charge situations. A dead Tesla on the Santan is a traffic problem first. State crews can help you get clear. They are not a charger.

Workplace lots, the 202, and the Price corridor

Price Road is the spine of Tesla commuting in Chandler. Intel-area lots, the office parks between Chandler Boulevard and Loop 202, and the retail strips farther south are where cars sit locked through the hot hours. A Tesla that was fine at lunch can refuse to wake at quitting time.

Loop 101 Price is the western edge of this commute. A stall on the Price Freeway puts you on a shoulder with fast traffic and little shade. Loop 202 Santan is the east-west run, tying Chandler to Gilbert and Mesa. Same heat, same speed, no charger on the shoulder.

If you can still roll, get off the traveled lanes. ARS 28-871 is the rule. If you cannot move, hazards on, stay visible, and treat it as a disabled vehicle. Do not stand in a live lane.

Tesla’s own path is the app. Tesla support says you request roadside assistance by selecting Roadside, choosing the issue, and confirming details. Confirm the current steps in the Tesla app and on Tesla’s roadside assistance page.

A local mobile EV charging operator is a different tool. The operator comes to the lot or a safe pull-off and adds range on site. Typical rescue charging on this network is 10 to 20 miles of range in 15 to 30 minutes of Level 2 charging. That is charging time, not an arrival window. Charge Pro PHX does not own a truck and does not quote a clock.

For Chandler coverage that is not Tesla-specific, see EV roadside assistance in Chandler and mobile EV charging when you stall in Chandler.

APS and SRP both serve Chandler. That does not put a charger in an Intel parking row. The U.S. Department of Energy electric vehicle pages explain charging levels. They will not dispatch anyone to Price Road.

What Tesla roadside sends versus an on-site charge

Tesla roadside assistance is Tesla’s program. Charge Pro PHX is not Tesla, not a Tesla contractor, and not a substitute for the app. Start in the app anyway.

Tesla’s published policy says assistance for a depleted battery is available but is not a financially covered service, regardless of warranty status. Tesla typically arranges transport to the nearest Supercharger or service center. Tesla does not publish a Chandler wait time, an included-mile figure we can verify, or a local fee schedule in the sources this site holds. Those figures could not be confirmed here. Use the Tesla app and Tesla’s own page for anything that looks like a price or a clock.

What Tesla usually sends for an empty pack, in Tesla’s own words, is transport. That is a tow to a Supercharger or a service center. It is not an on-site charge in a Chandler office lot. If the car is on Loop 202 Santan, a tow can be the right move. If the car is in a gated workplace lot near Intel, a tow truck may not be able to enter or stage. You may only need enough range to reach a charger.

An on-site charge is the other path. An independent operator brings Level 2 equipment to a safe location and adds enough range to drive. Typical figures here are 10 to 20 miles of range in 15 to 30 minutes of charging. The operator quotes and bills you directly. Charge Pro PHX sets no price.

When Tesla will not charge on site, that gap is the reason to request a local match. Read Tesla roadside when they won’t charge on site for the policy side. This Chandler page is about the ground: Price Road lots, the Price Freeway, and the Santan.

Do not mix the two jobs. A tow solves a car that cannot sit there. An on-site charge solves a car that can sit there if it gets a little range. Tesla’s published default for a depleted pack is transport. A local rescue is the backup when that default does not fit the stall.

12-volt lockout versus an empty pack

A Tesla that will not wake is not always out of range. The high-voltage pack can still hold miles while the low-voltage battery is dead. On the current Model Y, Tesla describes a lithium-ion low-voltage battery with its own jump-post procedure. Battery type and procedure vary by model and year. Confirm the type in the vehicle information and use the current manual for that car.

On the current Model Y, Tesla describes jump posts reached after the hood is open. The wires behind the tow-eye cover only release the hood latches. They cannot charge the low-voltage battery. Tesla says those cables must not stay connected more than 30 seconds, and they must be disconnected once the hood unlatches. Procedures differ by model. Tesla also states that Model Y cannot be used to jump-start another vehicle, and that doing so can result in damage.

An empty pack looks different. The car still talks. The display shows low range or zero. You can often open doors and use the app. Tesla roadside assistance for that case, per Tesla, is available but not financially covered, with transport typically arranged to a Supercharger or service center.

A 12-volt lockout looks like a brick. Handles may not work. The app may lose the car. Screens stay dark. Towing a locked Tesla off Loop 202 is a different job than adding range in a Price Road stall. Do not assume Tesla’s depleted-battery transport is the 12-volt fix. In the app, choose the issue that matches what you see.

If you are unsure which failure you have, say so. The match is someone who works on Teslas at the stall, not a generic hook that cannot open the car. Charge Pro PHX does not diagnose cars as a shop.

Heat makes both failures more common in Chandler lots. Starter batteries last about 47 months in hot climates versus 59 in cool ones, per Battery Council International work via Battery University. Tesla’s current Model Y uses a lithium-ion low-voltage pack, so treat that 47-month figure as climate context, not a Tesla replacement interval.

What to send when you want a local match

If Tesla already dispatched a tow and that is what you want, stay in the Tesla app. Charge Pro PHX is the backup when you need the car charged where it sits, or when Tesla’s contractor is tow-only.

Send a tight report. City: Chandler. Pin the lot, the Price Road address, the Loop 101 Price location, or the Loop 202 Santan shoulder. Say whether you are in an Intel-area workplace lot, a retail lot, or on the freeway. Freeway stalls have ARS 28-871 and Move Over in play. A lot stall is a different staging problem.

Send the model and year. A Model Y hood procedure is not a Model S procedure. Say whether the car is a brick, with no handles, no screens, and a silent app, or an empty pack that still talks. Say whether you already opened a Tesla roadside assistance request, and what Tesla said it would send. If Tesla told you it would arrange transport, say that. The local operator needs to know a tow may already be rolling.

Do not send a price target. The operator quotes. The brand does not. Do not ask for a minute window. Charge Pro PHX publishes no arrival times. Typical charging, once work starts, is 10 to 20 miles in 15 to 30 minutes of Level 2 time.

If you can still roll a short distance, a safe lot off Price Road beats the Santan shoulder. If you cannot move, stay out of the traveled lanes, keep warning lights on, and stay visible 200 feet as ARS 28-871 requires.

Charge Pro PHX is a referral service. It matches you with independent local operators. It performs no work, owns no trucks, and holds no trade license. You contract and pay the professional directly.
